The patients were diagnosed using the WHO criteria of post-COVID (long COVID) [52], namely: (a) individuals having a history of proven SARS-CoV-2 infection, (b) symptoms persisted beyond the acute phase of illness or manifested during recovery from acute COVID-19 infection, (c) symptoms lasted at least 2 months and are present 34 months after the onset of COVID-19, and (d) patients suffer from at least two symptoms that impair daily functioning including fatigue, memory or concentration problems, shortness of breath, chest pain, persistent cough, difficulty speaking, muscle aches, loss of smell or taste, affective symptoms, cognitive impairment, or fever [52]
